Job Development & Placement
Disabled workers are provided with one-on-one vocational services that focus on a permanent return to the workforce. Services are individualized, based on the needs of the client and referral source, and may include:
- Vocational assessment including work history, identification of interests, aptitudes, skills and abilities, and matching of abilities with appropriate employment options
- Labor market research of potential employment opportunities to assess a client’s marketability in the workforce
- Job search skill development including organization of job search, application forms, resume and cover letter preparation, analysis of job ads, hidden job market, identification of suitable employers, and telephone and interview skills
- Supported job search and provision of job leads
- Job site analysis and development of return to work plans
- Liaison with potential/pre-disability employers, job placement, training on the job and workplace accommodation
- Regular follow-up after job placement to ensure employment retention
